WHAT DOES AN OT DO?
An occupational therapist (OT) helps people manage everyday activities more easily, safely, and independently.

While a doctor focuses on diagnosing and treating medical conditions, and a physiotherapist often focuses on movement, strength, balance, and physical recovery, an OT looks at how health challenges affect everyday life.

For example, someone may have recovered from an illness or injury but still be finding it difficult to shower safely, prepare meals, manage fatigue, return to work, remember appointments, or move around their home with confidence. An OT helps find practical solutions to these everyday challenges.

This might involve recommending equipment, suggesting home adaptations, teaching new strategies, or finding simpler ways to complete daily tasks.

The goal is simple: to help people do the things that matter to them as safely, independently, and confidently as possible.
